My Story
I have been training Judo for 11 years and started practicing Judo in Storfors Judoklubb under several different coaches. In 2004, my family moved and I changed club to Kristinehamn Judoklubb KFUM where I practice today. In Kristinehamn, my competition career really started, as the training was focused on pure competition training. There I started training with Frederik and Jennier Gourlay Uvesten under the coaches Patrik and Peter Gardsiö. This meant that you had good resistance to the exercises and opponents who were very talented technically.

This led to the fact that I also developed technically. During the last year of the U15 until the last year of the U20 I competed a lot, participated at least 10 competitions a year with varied success. This led me to Frederik and I started training on themselves beyond the usual workout. This was when we wanted to improve our competition judo, because we practiced a lot of throwing training and driving a lot of randori.

We could run throwing training for several hours, but I usually tricked first to throw and this led to Frederick standing and throwing me away for several hours after I stopped. He experimented with several different throws and a throw as he experimented most where his Tsode-Tsuri-Komi-Goshi also came to be a throw I learned to defend myself quite well so that he had trouble throwing me on training and competition at first. In 2006, I started as a coach for the beginner group for children, where I am still a coach now. As a coach in 2007, I participated in my first training course in Frövi.

In 2008, both I and Frederik applied to the judo gymnasium, when I did not enter the judo gymnasium but Frederik did, it led me to motivate myself in my judo training, when Frederik had a helping motivator for my training earlier. I did not give up with Judon, but it took an opposite effect when I was thought to be developed in Judo. This led me to study the phenomenon judo, both theoretically, technically and willingly to perform better on the competition.

This will lead me to being awarded SCIF Idrottssköld 2009, which resulted in my turn that I began more and more to focus on teaching Judon, instead of just racing. I was elected as an alternate member of the board of Kristinehamn’s judo club, and I was given the title of youth manager and graduation manager in the club. This felt very fun when I was only the holder of the belt. I even chose to work with a project where we in the club had been invited to attend an event called Olympic Day.

I began to focus more on improving the educational bit in my teaching and began to plan less training as well as terminate all the more thorough and to set the purpose of each workout. I was also taken to Karlstad’s team to team SM where we got up, but this did not make me much when I thought it was just fun to get a team at SM. I finished the year by grading me to Blackbelt.

In 2011, I was elected as a secretary for the Värmland / Örebro Judo Association, where I also received the posts as education manager, webmaster, youth manager. In Kristinehamn’s judo club, I was recruited as an alternate and received another post and it was Educational Officer. I continued my job as a coach in the club, and this also happened when I started studying in Örebro.

During the year I participated in several competitions such as the Sörmland strike where I came second in Gentlemen -66kg and SM where I was picked up. In the fall I operated my jaw so this affected my training but I could already come back to Judon again now in January. As I am still practicing rehabilitation training, I have already begun running randori training against the youngsters and adults who compete actively and I still feel I can throw them on the randorin, which helps me motivate myself so I reach my goal to compete again this fall.

I want to end with this quote “Throwing is simple, but falling is all the more difficult!”
