Mikael Marffy

Mikael Marffy started with Judo in 1986 already as a 5 year old and has been jammed for Judo since then. Black belt and belong to the club Take down Judoklubb, Malmö. Both coaches and have a great competition experience and many good results both nationally and internationally.

How did you get in touch with Judo?
My dad who is also a black belt in Judo took me to the training when I was only 5 years old!

Been to big competitions in Sweden?
Answer: The biggest competitions that have been in Sweden that I have participated in are well; SM, NM and SWOP.

Competing for some international competitions?
– Yes, a lot! The biggest international competitions I have participated in are EM 2ggr (2003 and 2005) and World Cup once (2003).

Best result?
“My best racing results must be when I took bronze at the World Cup in Korea.

– When I was taken to the World Cup in Japan in 2003.

Do you have any judgments for the future?
– Veteran World Cup in Brazil this fall!

What are you working with today?
“I work as a sports teacher at high school.

Who is your judiciary image?
– Fedor Emelianenko (Russia), one of the world’s most successful MMA practitioners. He has a background in Judo.

Do you only eat judo or any more sports?
– I also train Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Submission Wrestling and MMA.

Do you own anything else in Judo than for your own sake?
“Yes, I’m doing together with my brothers and my father, Judo Club TakeDown.

What is your strength like Judoka?
– My explosiveness and technology.

What is your favorite technique / combination?
– Uchi-mata.

Do you have family / siblings who also train judo?
– My father Geza and my brothers David, Daniel and Mattias also have all black belt in Judo.

What made you most impressed by Judo as a sport?
“That I got to travel and experience a lot, thank you for being my success in sports.

What do you think of Swedish judo today?
“Swedish judo seems to develop in the right direction.
