Färgelanda Judoklubb was founded in 1981 and is Dalsland’s only judo club (located 11 kilometers north of Gothenburg). From the start to 2001, there was a sports center where you had to carry the judo mat before each training. In 2001, the club had the opportunity to move to their own local area a few kilometers outside of Färgelanda, which was taken and where the activities exist today. Färgelanda Judo has about 75 members.

 

This year the club celebrates its 30th anniversary, which the members are very proud of. Over the years, much has happened, the competition background has been high and intense with many talented judokas with good results ranging from SM, NM, Abroad to national level. We have had 6 of the years passed the judo gymnasium in Lindesberg and a total of 7 black belts in the club, one of which is Dan. Arranges their own competition Judodraget since 25 years back once a year.

Today with 10 trained trainers of varied ages, training activities with three days a week. During the year, the club had: Nostalgia training (old members invited and food in the evening), sporting activity, Judodraget (about 200 participants each time), organized the first camp ever, Ninja Cup, bring a week of friends, family week, 5 school presentations with judo, a number of open houses, autumn holidays, recruitment, several newspaper articles and ratings.

Some Visions
– Increase to at least 90 members by 2015
– Increase educational opportunities both within judo but also club activities
– Start a 3-5 year group in 2012
– Have at least 30% girls among members
– Be able to organize courses, camps and education through our club.
