Competition feeling

That a feeling can be very strong is already a known phenomenon, but that it can remain despite changing routines, astonishing me. You who compete, especially in Judo, know what I’m talking about. The adrenaline kick you get out of such a single match is quite powerful if you ask me. It does not matter if you are on a coaching trip with the Judo kid or see a Youtube clip of a match, that kicking feeling will always be faithful. Quite fascinating when you think about it, why is it still revealing?

Is it because your Judo memory is filled with those moments or is it just a longing? The longing for everything called old and old good times? Whatever it depends on, I admire that this feeling remains today and reminds me of the spirit of the contest.

I also admire all these competition judges both at national and international level that it continues to fight for both World Cup and OS. It’s big and I think that their competition is much bigger than mine. Good luck in the 2012 Olympics!
